Do you know the difference between solar PV plants vs solar thermal plants? Yes, concentrated solar or solar thermal is really good to go; very efficient. PV solar is getting there... they need to reach grid parity. So far solar thermal is only for utility scale projects. I don't know if it will ever be practical for a home.
