An article in No.Virginia paper:

"No Virginian Vice-President"

loudouni.com

This Editorial lays it out fairly well------there is no Virginian Democrat to run with Obama. Webb officially stated on July 7th he would keep his Senate seat.

The only Virginian Democrat that even seems viable is Former Governor Chuck Robb. Like McCain, Robb is of another generation and is capable within his own right to be President.

Seems like the Democrat Party has blown it, so to speak, in choosing a Junior Senator with no experience in Congress and with no international experience rather than a Democrat of experience and stature such as Robb. It's too late now.

Mj Comment:

About the Democrats

What does this article indicate? My interpretation is that no Virginian Democrat wants to run with Obama. Why? It's about losing----who wants to run as Obama's VP and lose------many of the people mentioned in the article with the exception of Kaine, who is still not fully tested in the Governorship, should be running for President-----not for VP to Obama.

About the Republicans

The Republicans named such as Senator John Warner and Congressman Frank Wolf are Senior Statesman----either with a wealth of knowledge and experience that is desirable for a Vice Presidential candidate. Senator Warner is retiring and Congressman Wolf is running for relection.

The Democrats such as Former Governor Mark Warner have their eyes on John Warner's seat as does Former Republican Governor Jim Gilmore----Mark Warner comes from the tax and spend party and Gilmore from the party that reduced Virginians taxes during his term. That Senate seat is one that both parties desire.

Could McCain choose former Governor George Allen? Why not?
Allen had only "one gaffe"-----Obama has more gaffes than we can count.

Despite the last minute attack on Allen-----Allen lost by a miniscule amount and did not ask for a recount to Webb's benefit.

Heck, even those Virginia Dems who won't run with Obama but want a Virginian in as VicePresident could find themselves and supporters supporting former Governor George Allen and Presidential Candidate Senator John McCain----giving us that Virginia Vice President and potential President.
