Could 2008 Be a McCain Landslide?

I listened to a good portion of his speech about the economy etc. on XM Radio POTUS (nice liberal programming). I think he was in Michigan. McCain is not an impressive speaker. Easy to see why Obama wants him in the debate format.

Repetition seems to be his long suit. Very boring, and like most prior presidential candidates, promises and more promises. Nikita Kruschev said, "Politicians are all the same. They will promise to build you a bridge, even though there is no river".

When queried about drilling , the increased cost of gas and refineries, McCain offered little. He did say he is going to build 45 nuclear facilities, but nothing about building a couple refineries.

He constantly refers to himself as a conservative, an admirer of T. Roosevelt and Reagan.

Plus, he continues to remind us that he is a straight talker. That has become a myth in my view. He must believe that a "we disagree" with a Town Hall questioner confirms he is a straight talker. He sounded defensive to me when replying without much substance.

McCain is still a better choice than Obama, but "he ain't no conservative"!!
