That's not a good measure. You have to look at the total dollars involved, not the number of banks. IndyMac is the second largest bank failure ever. FreddieMac and Fannie Mae are teetering. if those two fail, then we'll be in the midst of the largest bailout in US history. Guess who gets to pay for all that? That's right. You and me.
