The calculations in that article, and a number of assumptions and approximations are made, just look at the energy flux... to and from a planet with and without an atmosphere. The analysis is independent of the state of the matter on each planet, and all the detail you manage to get yourself twisted up in. What is relevant, the analysis shows why the planet Earth has the average temperature it does, and as an added extra, an explanation for the average temperatures found at Venus, the Moon and Mars. The only thing "thrown out" is any credulity to your rantings. Case over.
