Why should he blame them, when they support his point (as I demonstrated relatively conclusively).

The only way that McCain would not be considered a natural born citizen is if one of the following is true.

1 - McCain was born between September 17, 1787 and March 26, 1790.

2 - The Naturalization Act of 1790 was unconstitutional

3 - The relevant provision in the Naturalization Act of 1790 was repealed by further legislation.

1 - Clearly nonsense.

2 - Its never been found to be unconstitutional by any court. If you really think that its unconstitutional on what ground would you make that argument? Its not as if anything in the constitution defines "natural born US citizen" as "citizen born in the US". Even without this specific law it would be reasonable to interpret "natural born US citizen", as someone who was a citizen by and at birth.

3 - It hasn't been repealed.
