I had to go outside and do some yard work so as I was working I was thinking about "profit from the government by being EMPLOYED by it". Way back when, I one time worked for City of NY, not directly now, but as a "consultant". Well one Friday I saw this big dude smoking a big cigar and a talking. Well, I asks "Who is that?" They said, "Oh, he works here, long time employee." "Why I never see him?" "Well, he only come around on pay day, dat's why" "Okey Dokey" There was one other guy I remember, I came back from lunch and he offered me a drink from a brown paper bag outside the front door. I asked the ladies about him, they said in the afternoons his job responsiblity is to stand on the street and drink.
Now back to Today's Situation:
I was wondering if Uncle Sam go a courtin' little Fanny (and for diversity sake little Freddie too). (Now never mind all the rumour mongering about who's a courtin' who, etc., with all the (free) market gyration taking place and the money tradin' and the bets being made, well, never mind the side bets.)
Well, when Uncle give gift to little Fanny, they call that EMPLOYMENT, uh huh. I think I can see it now, thank you.
But on the TV, they don't call it "employ", they say Uncle going down to "BAIL OUT" little Fanny (and little Freddie too).
What I wants to know, is what king of "job" is little fanny doing for uncle and why do she need BAIL money?
And also, if Bama get in there and he keep his promise. Well, he said he going to send me a check to help pay "gas money", plus well, I can not keep up with all the free "gifts" he have promised, for one thing he going to turn back the tides like good king Canute, I would really like to see him "do that".
Well, if Bama send me lots of free gift, do they call that "employ?"
ON ANOTHER NOTE I GOT THIS HOT OFF THE PRESS STRAIGHT FROM THE SPEAKERS' SITE: HOT HOT HOT
<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Washington, D.C. - Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on President Bush's announcement lifting the executive ban on drilling in protected coastal areas:
"Once again, the oilman in the White House is echoing the demands of Big Oil.
"The Bush plan is a hoax. It will neither reduce gas prices nor increase energy independence. It just gives millions more acres to the same companies that are sitting on nearly 68 million acres of public lands and coastal areas.
"If the President wants to bring down prices in the next two weeks, not the next two decades, he should free our oil by releasing a small portion of the more than 700 million barrels of oil we have put in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
"It's time to tell the oil industry: 'You already have millions of acres to drill. Use it or lose it.'"
