This is no more than a contribution by the New York Times to Obama and his candidacy. Is it legal for a candidate to write an op ed piece that gets distributed broadly? Because of their distribution this must be valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollar of free advertising when the limit is $2,300.00 per individual. The McCain campaign should demand equal print space and internet distribution for John McCain. What's fair one is fair for the other. I am assuming that Obama did not pay for the op-ed piece. mj
