China Telecom (NYSE: CHA, 728.HK) began its first round of CDMA bidding on Tuesday with intentions to spend approximately RMB 17.3 billion on the CDMA network by the end of the year, reports c114.net quoting a China Telecom related source. Telecom equipment providers including Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel Networks, Motorola, ZTE (000063.SZ, 0763.HK) and Huawei reportedly joined the bidding for network equipment and terminals.
