Bush was exactly the kind of president you like.....and this country is in a hell of mess because flexibility is not in Mr. Bush's vocabulary. You must learn from your mistakes..... Learning from mistakes is one thing, but changing positions for political expediency is entirely different. Yes, Bush has been a fine president IMO. I agreed with the decision to go to war, and through his persistence we have won the war in Iraq and will win the one in Afghanistan -- in spite of the liberals having wanted to surrender two years ago. I disagree with Bush on many issues, but on the big ones -- like protecting America, I cannot think of anyone who would have done a better job. It is inarguable that Bush's actions have saved us from further terrorist attacks -- in spite of the fact that practically everyone believed we would be attacked again after 9/11. And today, it appears that AQ is no longer sufficiently functional to mount any attack against us.
