I believe the time of the news statement regarding the rumor was 12:06pmEST. Thus, as the rise in Ascend occurred well before that time, I would assume that the buying in Ascend was coming from the institutions. The individual investor did not have access to this news item until it was on the wires at 12:06pmEST. This view is also supported by the heavy volume today...and that options related activity would have kept the stop below 35. By the end of the day, we may well see Ascend below 35 again, but next week, if the rumors are confirmed or left in the wind, then Ascend should go higher. And as Andrews stated...the technicals are also very good at this point...starting from 2 weeks ago.
