you:

Q3 2007 was barely higher than Q2 2007 (up $2M). For this year, however, Spansion is predicting that for all of 2008, revenue would be flat to slightly above 2007.

me:

Well, I've listened to the CC twice now and will probably have to listen to it a couple of more times to get all the information and nuances. These guys are not that easy to understand.

However, one thing that was repeated a few times was that they have a couple of sales initiatives going that will increase the customer base, probably significantly. Another thing was that all the SP1 production($26M)in q2 was Ornand, not any Eclipse. Berti sounded somewhat frantic about getting Eclipse qualified. I assume that's because a lot of SP1 capacity is being reserved for Eclipse. Once Eclipse starts into full production this q or next things should really start to heat up. Finally, Sept, Oct and Nov are the hottest sales months for SPSN so overall their goals seem realistic, but who knows?

It sounds like things hinge on getting Eclipse qualified. Once that happens the 2k WSPW capacity of SP1 is probably all allocated and the economies of scale really kick in. Given the slow uptake that MirrorBit went through I can't see any of the OEMs making huge Eclipse commitments without some field experience. More likely they will start off slowly and if things work out add more Eclipse products later.

Next year is beginning to look (as all the analysts have been saying all along) to be the time when SPSN might finally prove itself.
