[ STRR, XOMA ] Hi Ray, thanks for the news on STRR...here's some info on XOMA picked up here on SI from Mike Murphy's biotech report. Q: Any highlights from the biotech side? A: Xoma will be announcing the data out of their phase III trials. They have a drug that basically prevents bacteria from breaking up and killing you. They're going to release the data on November 8th which is going to be very strong. The results from phase II trials were very positive. Q: So you're predicting that it will be extremely positive? A: Its extremely positive! Septic Shock kills people. You get it through disease or trauma where there is this huge bacteria load. The bacteria break up and dump endo-toxins and the endo-toxins essentially kill you, they destroy your internal organs. Xomas' drug scoops up those endo-toxins, locks them up and safely carries them out of your body. I believe they will have FDA next year. I think the report said the results would be out 2nd week of November. Stock is getting pulled down with market today...may be buying opportunity...where's Rainier ? Thanks, NEPF P.S.
