I can't disagree with much on that one.

Obama IS getting a free ride pretty much, BUT, I still remember 2000 and Bush seemed to get the same kind of treatment. Every night back then Leno AND Letterman seemed to be "killing" Gore about everything. He was too stiff, he said he invented the internet, he talked "real sloooowww". I don't remember too many jokes about Bush. Were there a lot of jokes about Bush back in 2000?

I think it's "familiarity". If they know a lot about you they go after you. Hillary got CREAMED by all the comedians during the primary.

The most sarcastic attacks I've seen on Obama have come from Leno. He did a thing where Obama was saying "change, change, change" and they showed a woman supposedly walking up to him with a dollar and it appeared that Obama gave her 3 quarters, 2 dimes and a nickel from his pocket.

Leno also put on the latest "Jib Jab" video that makes Obama look VERY effete and not real masculine.

I think it's always harder to make fun of "the new guy".
