The Democrats had eight years before that.

Peak oil has only become a reality in the last 8 years... before that it was theroy vehemently denied by the Republicans (and still some are in denial).

In addition, the Democrat congress has refused to allow any exploration of our OWN resources.

First, that's not true... or we would have ANY off shore rigs and we wouldn't have open millions of Gulf acres in '06.

Second it's just as much Republicans that have blocked drilling as Dems... just depends on which state they are from.

There is broad agreement that we have adequate resources available to us to dramatically reduce our dependence on foreign oil -- whether it is drilling in ANWR, in the OCS, or production from oil shale. Yet, the Democrats continue to fight it, even today.

"Dramatically"? LOL. More BS from DR.
