Talking to these guys you would think that drilling oil actually makes the sea cleaner. It does......it absorbs all the blackness in the sea and makes the water bluer. You didn't know that......I got it from the same book that explains Creationism. There IS a significant trade off to off shore drilling... and in some places where clean beaches are a huge economic driver that has to be considered. Exactly. In the case of WA state, its a unique habitat that is worth preserving as well as an economic driver in the form of tourism.
