Indonesia did as well, related to its own currency but that didnt help.

Then I want to chip in here. One must consider the other side of the equation in the DX. It is mostly the EUR, again a fiat currency.

And the problems are growing. I am still not convinced (see earlier mail) but one has to consider poor economic numbers and on top of that, incidents a la Martinsa.

So gold may stay high or rise while the EUR corrects and the DX with it.

One thing however: two bounce days after 20 something days where banks went straigth down, could have been expected with or without short selling rules.

Also, thanks to the one for the warning that Wachovia recently hired a GS cronie: This means that bad news, like today, don´t count anymore.
