Y'know.. my biggest beef is, as I understand it, if I purchase my stock in a margin account, it's available to be loaned out EVEN IF I DIDN'T BORROW MONEY to purchase that position.

That's gotta stop!! The only stock that should be shortable should be stock that has been purchased via a margin loan.

The only way I know of stopping it now is to place a GTC sell order within a certain range above the current market price in order to make the B/D's too nervous to loan it out lest my sell order is executed by selling to someone else purchasing in a cash account.

But even then I'm not sure it does a lot of good.. But it's just my way of "fighting the man".
