Business has no season influence in buisness anymore. Before December 20th to January 30th, it would ground to a halt. Then February would be slow because Carnival was mid/end February. School holidays and parents took holidays together with kids Dec to mid-February.

Since it had many state-owned enterprises it forced political time in business since they would not be in a hurry to do business.

Today the competition is fierce and if you sleep people talk with someone else who is working.

Carnival time has changed to first week February to avoid stretching low business activity way into end of February.

Now foreigners can: spend Xmas and New Year at home. Since i Summer in Brazil they come to Brazil, spend some holiday time and have time to do business.

Before they would need to come February, then Carnival would stop the country again. Carnival time has changed to first week February.

On tickets: I went to Rio paid BRL99 round trip. Planned trip to S. Paulo last weekend and it'd cost BRL400 round trip.

Since we are 3 persons we rented car here and drove there, since I would need a car there anyway.

Perhaps you can check my travel agent to buy E-tickets here. I can mail you her contacts. her prices for rent cars are cheaper too.
