Obama chose to call himself African-American rather than calling himself "American", in so doing he has created a barrier.

We are all Americans if you are a legal citizen.

I don't know what your ancestral background is----do you call your self Irish-American, Welsh- American, German- American, French-American, white American, black American, Chinese-American , Italian American, African-American. See how ridiculous this separation becomes.

Without doubt, Obama will morph into an American by the time of the Convention. I could actually write his speech for him.
