Your sentiments about voting are similar to my oldest brother's sentiments of a couple of months ago. Not only was he saying he would not write in , he is claiming he will not vote.

Obama is an absolute no for him and he has reasons that he doesn't want to vote for McCain; thus he has no candidate to vote for as he would not go with the other candidates.

He now has come to understand that if he does not vote it is the same as going with the majority vote. If that majority is Obama by even one vote my brother's non-vote is a silent vote for Obama the majority. His one vote could turn that majority vote into a tie.

Extapolate a little further-----this becomes cumulative if people do not vote.

He has now promised he will be voting for the Republican Nominees. He keeps his promises so know he will.
