Yes, they seem to be flying by now as well as age does.

I am in the midst of a mishap at our home so checking in but not posting much. Had a commode overflow and flood room in an upstairs bedroom and down into walls of breakfast room. Have had a restoration company in with the big fans drying things out and those things are so loud. Pulled up the carpet in both rooms and now everything is dry and the real work begins. First time this has ever happened to us and hope to never have it happen again. Did replace the old commode with a new one and I was shocked when I saw the invoice. It was double what I thought it would be. Things just keep going up higher every year. We have a high deductible so all this repair is on us. A claims adjuster did come by to inspect the damage and thank goodness he did. The restoration company wanted to tear into the breakfast room walls which are paneled and painted and he told them they could not replace the like wood (our home is 69 years old this year) as it is no longer available and suggested they go through the plaster in dining room wall to dry those walls out and spray them also. I was so happy to hear him suggest that as plaster is much easier to repair and put back like it was so now have three rooms to repair. Hopefully it will all be done in a couple of weeks and we will be back to normal again and no further problems. What a heck of a way to spend the summer...but those rooms will be fresh and clean.

Well you will soon catch up with us. A couple who are our closest friends celebrated 48 years this month and they always go up to Portland for a week to celebrate their anniversary. They started doing that about seven years ago and look forward to that trip every year as they love it there. They keep asking us to go up there with them and I think maybe next year we may try, as they already know the best places to stay and restaurants to eat in and sights to see there. Would be like having our own private tour guides.
