Here is an instance of the Obama campaign lying about it. Obviously Obama wanted to speak there. They're trying to make it look as if he didn't.

No question he might have wanted to speak there. However, he is respecting Merkel's wishes that he not speak there. That's how you behave in foreign countries. You respect their wishes. You would understand that......fukk it, never mind. You would never understand.
