Hi Darin,
Intel is a behemouth corporation and as such needs huge revenues and
high margins to support the corporate infrastructure and R&D expenses.
Competition is cutting into the Intel market share placing pressure on
the premium prices that Intel can charge on their chips, both on the
Microprocessor and flash memory markets. This is great for the consumer but really has a dramatic impact on Intel that once had little to no real competition in the technology arena. If you are the
only game in town you get all the business, now Intel has to share and
also be competitive. They will soon find it necessary to cut the fat
and become lean and mean to compete efficiently. Look for a slow down
in Intels' new fab expansion, although they will need to re-equip the
older fabs to stay on the leading edge of technology/productivity.

Just my opinion,
BB
