Again, I don't think America could transition to fascism because of the protections we have -- not now, at least.
But the Obama candidacy really reeks of fascism in many respects -- the elitism, the arrogance, the uninformed support, the powerful media support (exemplified by the NYT's rejection of McCain's op-ed), the lies and mis-statements and politically-motivated waffles.
Most importantly, the support of liberals is highly suggestive. In the early days of Mussolini, the Western Liberals were all about it. They LOVED Mussolini, believed he was destined not to infamy, but toward greatness.
That they would elect a man about whom we know so little is shocking.
FOUR YEARS AGO NOT ONE PERSON ON THIS THREAD WOULD HAVE KNOWN WHO OBAMA WAS. NOT ONE. Only after his speech at the convention, contrived by a 24-year-old kid, did he become known. He was quickly installed as a senator with an obvious intent to run for the presidency THIS YEAR. During his short political career, he has carefully avoided votes that would disclose his extremism, except for a few slips that are undeniable but obscure (the Roberts vote, for example).
The man is dangerous. |
