This question reeks of ignorance.

Obviously, to anyone who is paying attention, winning in Iraq has very long-term, deep significance for the United States and for protecting us from future terrorist attacks.

By having a country in the dead center of the ME that is friendly toward us, which they will be when all is said and done, AND one which we freed from tyranny (and they know it), you develop a relationship that will benefit us for decades to come.

It is interesting to me that you Lefties are all about Obama making friends in Europe (where we have friendly governments all over the place) but don't place any emphasis on relationships with ME countries who are in a position to help us on the national security front.

The biggest single mistake the Bush administration has made is that they have failed to articulate just how important winning in Iraq is. It resulted int the Left being TOTALLY confused about our purpose there, and Bush has failed to correct that confusion. You people think it was about WMD when in fact the entire picture is far broader than that.

This stuff is over your head. No point in discussing it.
