<Please list a couple of recent cases where the SEC has taken action in respect to these obvious infringements. There are hundreds of stocks on the Reg SHO lists. Many have been there for a long time; there have been thousands of complaints submitted..>

OK... showing that there needs to be a clamp down... or even gross neglect of their oversight responsibilities if you will... BUT NOT that the rules have no effect.. in fact the opposite IS true... NO ONE would borrow if they thought they didn't have to... NO ONE.

I have no intention of spending my time to satisfy you when you're the one making the over the top claim. Why don't you figure out the % of borrowed stock that is actually "naked"??? That deals with the initial hoopla. My 1% estimate is probably high if you add up total shorts/SHO board.

Here's a good source:

<As I said before, the fact that even one stock is on the Reg SHO list PROVES the rules have been broken. >

I'm surprised you repeated this analogy...that's NOT what you said before... you said it showed the rules are not being followed. In general the opposite is true.

AS I said before... yes recent abuses show stuff needs to be done, it doesn't show there are no rules and that they (the non-existant rules) don't work. I don't find the recent abuse surprising and I expect it to get worse as the market melts down... I'm just an ex-specialist... I would expect the SEC "professionals" to be well aware of this and be hiring people like nutz... OTOH, look who's president... they've been cutting all that stuff... AND they've been weakening the laws (esp Swaps and derivatives... look out there).
