The NRA is lying about the cover story that they used to arm blacks against the KKK. They spread that lie across the internet, but it's not true. In fact in those days racism against blacks was widely accepted, and the NRA were certainly always on the far right side of things socially and politically, which means they were natural allies of the KKK.

So why was the NRA founded the week after the KKK was banned?

Coincidence?

Nope. No coincidence whatsoever. However these days the NRA is mainly the gun lobby, lobbyists trying to make more and more money selling more and more expensive guns which fire more and more bullets faster and faster. That is their real goal underneath all the hype and cover stories.

They are also, let's be honest, mainly renecks. Which is also another word for southern style white racists who miss the COnfederacy when blacks were their slaves.
