Quick, everyone panic and buy gold like the atavistic Aztecs say. Let's have a gold moai economy instead of a cyberspace economy! So far, the gold moai economy is NOT doing very well compared with the cyberspace economy over half a decade: finance.yahoo.com

And worse over 15 years: finance.yahoo.com

The Aztecs are in high excitement, prancing around their campfires, chanting imprecations to the God'- of found wealth.
But even the Aztecs secretly prefer their cyberphones to their collections of gold coins. They carry their cuddly cyberphones with them at all times and upgrade them frequently.

The iPhone plastic, silicon and bits and pieces is worth more than the equivalent weight in gold [especially if the accompanying minute/megabyte service plans are accounted for].
