Actually McCain has said most troops would be withdrawn over his Presidency as conditions warrant. Also, even Obama has said he would leave a residual force in Iraq indefinately. So the big difference between the candidates now would seem to be whether the drawdown of troops is to be flexible or inflexible and responsive or indifferent to conditions in Iraq.

As for wanting to continue our "oil addiction", its not a matter of wanting, we are going to be using oil for many decades to come. To think otherwise is to believe in unrealistic myths.
