So far that's my sole personal encounter, hope our lustrous coated friend forgot the area by now. During a business seminar in the mtns some yrs ago, one of the wkend's social activities was a hike in remote woods...the group was advised to follow the guide's instructions if we encountered a bear--he said stand perfectly still and stare the bear directly in it's eyes....yeah right, like that was gonna happen. My alternative plan involved burning off shoe leather while hoping someone heeded the guide's advice.<g>
