But Obama, said Asaal, appeared more interested in discussing troops cuts and the eventual withdrawal of U.S. forces. "He told them Iraqis should take care of themselves and that the U.S. Army and Marines have families as well, and they have to go back to their families," said Asaal. But there was no discussion in the meeting he attended about whether Iraqi security forces were ready to take over security responsibilities.
