A ranger is briefing some hikers before their hike in bear country. He tells them to wear these bells on the shoes to warn bears that they are coming and shows them how to use their pepper spray. He comments that from the scat you will be able to tell whether the bear in the area is a black or a grizzly. Upon being questioned on how to tell the difference the ranger replies that the black bears scat will have berries and such in it while the grizzly's will have bells in it and smell distinctly of pepper:)
