LOL. One of the press people for Clinton was on last nite. She reported that the NY Times frequently asked for a rewrite before they would publish an op-ed from the President.


I saw that interview. There is no way to know from it what the context of Clinton's submissions might have been. The remark was meaningless.

What they did in this case was to kick McCain's perfectly well-written op-ed back because it didn't agree with Obama's philosophy. They wanted timelines, and McCain has correctly stated from the outset that timelines are, as a general proposition, contrary to the fundamental approach to winning a war.

Anyone with half a mind can see that if you put an arbitrary time for withdrawal on a war, you set yourself up for failure. Only the idiots on the Left support such a stupid move.

Obama has stumbled into a great situation with this thing -- the very surge he opposed (and STILL opposes, according to him) is what enables him to avoid backing off of his prior position. The Neanderthal voters probably won't see that, unfortunately.
