Until we hack these numbers apart the paragraph above appears astounding-----millions of volunteers.
Within the same article, it is noted that about 116,000,000 Americans voted in the 2004 Presidential Election.
Obama claims to have 2,000,000 volunteers now and anticipates 6,000,000 by election day. Consider these number of volunteers to read-----"Known Obama Voters".
2,000.000 Known Obama Voters Now
6,000,000 Known Obama Voters, November Election Day
110,000,000 Unknown Voters on Election Day (Not Volunteers for Obama)
When we recognize that asking voters to volunteer is another way of locking in their potential vote----------we can easily see that Obama will have locked in less than 10% of the popular vote via volunteers.
110,000,000 people will vote in addition to the less than 10% of all voters that have committed to vote for Obama because they are volunteers.
Obama will still need about 37%/38% of the 116,000,000 Voters in addition to his volunteer voters to carry the popular vote with 47%/48%.
It doesn't matter how many volunteers the Obama campaign claims to have it is the final vote in November that counts not the number of volunteers.
