By destroying the balance of power, Bush has facilitated the rise of Iran and by extension the Shia in Iraq. It is his own doing that has emboldened Iran. We have no control over the situation anymore. This is the price to pay for stupid strategic mistakes. Leaving or staying will make no difference. Staying will just cost us more money and more lives and build further Arab hatred against us. Might as well leave and start spending that money right here at home getting to oil independence.
