This will not be bad for us in the long run I think.

Is that the best you can do in specifically defining the benefits to the American people of spending $700B and likely more than $1 trillion in cold hard cash before this thing is over?

This has been the worst, most disastrous investment in the history of America. This war has already run longer than World War II and we're facing an enemy infinitely weaker. What a global joke the US has become. We can't even finance our own spending anymore. Instead, we borrow from China just to get by on a yearly basis. And why? Because folks like you have decided that wars everywhere are a better use of our money than investing in America's future.

Bush has increased our national debt from $5 trillion to $10 trillion. Congratulations. Republicans have proven once and for all that they are the Party of big government. ENORMOUS government. Even worse, they spend that money on other countries, not Americans.
