Does Arthur P. Smith explain how 1 part in 10,000 will raise the temperature by 1 part in 10?

No he doesn't. I think I already said that.

Regarding the two papers presentation.

Smith. Generally proofs are written in the briefest form possible. It is assumed the reader is well versed in physics and the phenomena at hand. The reason why proofs are written this way is... it's the job of the author to get his paper accepted. Any statement that can be misinterpreted would be the cause for it to be thrown out by an expert critic. All normal serious scientific papers are written this way. Scientific papers are found to be wrong all the time. No theory is perfect.

Gerlich & Tscheuschner. No such rigidity. Just read the sections on warming inside cars! What are good about the paper are detailed explanations, flawed as they may be. The "icing on the cake" is the mathematics thrown in. The basic math's used is fine. The more complicated looking equations (very beautiful equations to any physicist) are just quoted straight out of the text books, Maxwell's equations for example. The equations are not really developed in any way, but they sure do make the paper look impressive to an unqualified eye! The result is, when the paper is distributed amongst the general population, it's a bit like a heavily armored tank getting in amongst the thin skinned supply vehicles of an enemy line. Utter confusion and panic is caused as the non technical Greenies run around screaming "Is the paper peer reviewed?", "No" comes the reply, the laws of physics have already been "peer reviewed". -lol- A bit of German humor at work there I think -g-
