Es heißt, der außenpolitische Berater der Bundeskanzlerin, Christoph Heusgen, sei auf dem G-8-Gipfel in Japan von einem Berater Bushs angeblafft worden wegen Obamas Plänen. Im Kanzleramt sagt man, es gehe nicht gegen Obama, sondern um ein Gebot der Fairness. Spräche er dort, müsste auch McCain dort sprechen dürfen. Hielten es die Amerikaner so, folgten bald auch andere Kandidaten anderer Nationen. Jemand aus Obamas Team, der für die transatlantische Kooperation zuständig ist und deshalb nicht zitiert werden will, sagte der F.A.Z.: „Das Brandenburger Tor ist ein historischer Ort und kein exklusiver.“
Its in the above paragraph. It says that a Bush advisor was critical of Obama speaking at the Gate and made his complaint known to a German representative at the G-8 summint in Japan. The Bush advisor suggested that if Germany allows Obama to speak at the Gate then McCain should be allowed to speak at the Gate. [We all know how mature you GOPers are.] And then the Germans began to worry if they allow Obama and McCain to speak at the Gate, then every tom, dick and harry running for office will want to speak at the Gate. So in the interest of fairness, Merkel was suggesting that Obama find another place to speak, and provided alternatives.
