Re: Yet Nehalem which is to paper launch at the same time, isn't known at all and due to that, likely to be much higher given that it would be touted all over the place, if it was lower. Some estimates have it higher than Barcelona at the same clock.

Nehalem power consumption was already tested at Anandtech. In that test the 2.66GHz Nehalem system used only 15W more under load than an equally clocked Yorkfield, and 10W more at idle. That would still put it well below Barcelona in clock-for-clock power consumption, and even better performance/watt than Yorkfield.

From Anandtech: And reasonable they are; for a 20 - 50% increase in performance, total system power consumption only went up by 10%.

Even less is known about Nehalem. Yet you tout it as if it was the second coming.

Less known about Nehalem? Anandtech has a complete Nehalem preview with several benchmarks. Where are the Shanghai previews with benchmarks?

Unless Nehalem isn't up to snuff when it finally does appear. Ever think that the price is an actual reflection of its true performance wrt current C2Q on stuff people care about?

Ever think more price cuts will be coming on current C2Q parts?
