Really? I just looked at some polls from back then.

In early '99, Bush was up 6.

In late '99, Bush was up 16.

In April 2000, Bush was up 1.

In July, Bush was up 11.

Gore didn't take the lead at all until September, when he went up by as many as 8 in one poll but was only a couple of points ahead for most of the month.

In October, Bush was up 2.

So where was Gore up by much more than Obama?
