Now according your physics, if you put a cold stone at 0F in a room filled with 70F air. The stone and it's radiative forcing heats the room. I doubt you can understand that the claim the atmosphere is heating the Earth is the cold stone claim

Yes, although the room will heat the stone also, and it will warm up to 70F over a period of time if the room is a constant temperature source. It's not just my "physics", it's the modern interpretation of Thermodynamics and the Kinetic Theory of Heat.

To avoid in confusion with convection etc this thought experiemnt deals with evacuated chambers. It is worth reading rather them skimming over if you are unsure of radiation theory.

This is why scientists insist on calling it "energy flow" not "heat flow". You found an excellent experiment where "cold" was transferred from one point to another. "Hot" can be transferred in the same way, and in both cases it can transferred through a gas that was at a different temperature. Heat flow would be an inappropriate term.

In the case of the "cold ray", all that is happening is the thermometer bulb is radiating all it's heat towards and ice cube, and the ice cube is only radiating back the temperature of ice, so the temperature of the thermometer drops.
