Not necessarily. My husband was born in Jordan and educated in Beirut. He was from a Christian family. He believed Moslems in the commonly thought of Arab countries were Arabs - not Turks, not Iranians.

Another fellow I knew was a Christian Lebanese diplomat. These folk never identified themselves as Arabs.

All spoke Arabic, French and English.
