They are not innovative vis a vis energy, material movement, capex and recovery. They are overbuilding and under recovering with CIL mills.

It takes engineering to win. Bobbie Smith knew that. Most of these engineers have never put together a Meccano set. That is why their costs are out of control.

They should have seen this energy crunch coming 10 years ago and planned to reduce costs. Underground mining equipment should be running with KOH fuel cells. Ditto the big trucks.

Engineering revolutions were how they afforded the mining of coal in Newcomen and Watt's time. We need that calibre of engineer to step up to the plate and innovate.
