Considering the astronomical size of any list of "all government actions", it would be possible to create a long list of government actions that had just about any specific type of result your looking for.

Think projects, like the interstate system or the transcontinental railroad or the atom bomb or the first world war or the electric grid or the internet or whatever. At almost every major turning point in this country the government has been in it up to their elbows.

I know it doesn't fit with the ideology but there it is Tim.
