7/25/08 update
Chalk up another week for the Bulls, with those in biotech territory snorting the loudest. At Friday's close the Nasdaq Composite Index was down -12.89% YTD (vs. -13.93% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index closed the week up 6.37% YTD (vs. up 1.57% YTD a week ago). The Contest portfolios also had a hot week, with the median closing down -3.14% YTD (vs. down -7.23% YTD a week ago).
At week's end, 14 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with 9 of the portfolios beating the NBI (and a full 24 of 33 doing better than the NCI YTD). GENE's portfolio is still in the lead, closing the week with a 95.5% YTD gain and ROBERT's portfolio held on to second place with a 42.0% YTD gain.
