Yes you are right with that observation. All I was trying to point out was that the apparent 50% discount on the old royalty rate I derived was not really 50%, because the future value in 2022 of a cash payment received in 2009 will be greater than the cash received in 2009 depending on the rate of return from whatever use QCOM puts that cash to for 15 years.

I don't know if QCOM will use straight line amortization, but I suspect they will not - too easy then for anyone to figure out what cash NOK handed over. But I also honestly don't know how they can hide the cash on the books, they aren't prone to accounting tricks.
