I remember when Continental Illinois Bank in Chicago went down (sort of) in 1984. They bailed EVERYBODY OUT on that one!

But hey, the senate will vote today on the mortgage bailout thing, and part of that is unlimited funding for Fannie & Freddie, a move almost as dumb as the Iraq invasion.

This is the Too Big to Fail policy @work.
Bottom line, taxpayers will pay the bill. Again.
