This is typical of many liberal thinkers, if not all. They have a particular view, it makes sense to them, and they want to impose it on everybody else. I've seen this over and over again on many many issues. I gather you missed the memo in which the right wing has been trying for the past almost forty years to impose a set of social views on the rest of the country--denying women choice, denying universities and colleges the right to use affirmative action to correct school segregation, denying rights to gays and lesbians, I could go on. As for guns and the NRA, they misinterpret the constitution, are trying to keep municipalities from addressing the handgun problem, and fight reasonable gun control on the fake slippery slope grounds. Hmmph.
