I'm sure ted's pic is somewhere in ANWR, since it is 18 million acres but no where near the 2000 acre plot for production; a liberal nuance to hide behind.

Drilling in ANWR is on the northern edge of the coastal plain:

Prudhoe Bay, not much different and it is a 10x40 miles chunk just west of the ANWR exploration site.

For example, the Central Arctic Caribou Herd (CACH) which migrates through Prudhoe Bay has grown from 3000 animals to its current level of 32,000 animals. The arctic oil fields have very healthy brown bear, fox and bird populations equal to their surrounding areas.
